Attention Strut for the Cure fans! We have two important announcements for you:

#1 We have extended the entry date for our fashion design competition until the end of this week. If you haven’t heard already, the ‘Design for the Cure’ competition will give local designers an opportunity to have their fashions featured in the annual fashion show for charity on March 12th. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, please check out “http://strutforthecure.com/design” for all the details. Only one week left so get those sketches in!

We are very excited to announce that Lori Kuban will be the emcee of Strut for the Cure 2010!

Lori Kuban was a 35 year wife and mother of two children, then aged 8 and 11, when she was diagnosed with brain cancer on Christmas Day of 2006. A few months following the discovery of her brain tumor, she was also diagnosed with an unrelated life threatening blood clotting disorder. After receiving these diagnoses and undergoing brain surgery to partially remove her tumor she had a choice. A choice not only of treatment approaches, but life approaches. Lori chose to take charge on both fronts. Concerning treatment, she incorporates complementary methods, including a mainly raw foods vegan lifestyle, into her healing plan. Exercise also plays an important role in her health, and she is a competitive triathlete and also enjoys downhill skiing, hiking, and trail running.
